Soros,

How easy is it to get some credit?

Today I called Home Depot. I recently got a card as I'm improving my house. I figure free money for a year is interesting, as I'll just hold that "home improvement" money in gold for a year and take my chances. Here is the conversation, EXACTLY.

Me: I want more credit.

HD: How much do you want?

ME: Give me another 5k.

HD: Ok, how much do you make (this surprises me, as I just got the card about 8-12 weeks ago and I told them all this stuff then)? And, you can include money that you earn outside your normal job.

ME: You mean like money I don't pay taxes on or something?

HD: No, just money that you make outside your normal job.

ME: Ok, I make X.

HD: How about $8500? Will that work? I can reduce it if you want.

Now here is the thing. I already did this about 4 weeks ago, and they doubled my credit line with the same kind of phone call. I saved up about $30K for home improvements, so this is not just a impulse purchase, but I never planned on putting it on a credit card. And, my credit line with HD is more than double the Visa card I have been using from my conservative credit union for about 18 years.

Yes I have good credit, but they have increased my credit 200% in about 8-12 weeks, just for asking. Spend it and they will give you more.

This will end badly.

Good Trading
