Is it intelligent? It depends on what you mean by that, Below Average Joe. It is a narrative of an event that happened thousands of years ago. It is intelligible, unlike most of your posts, but then there is nothing in the post of you except one line. The reason I don't answer most of your posts is that you never say anything intelligent, so smarten up B.A G.

"And Moses said to them: "Have you kept all the women alive? Look, these women caused the children of Israel, through the counsel of Balaam, to trespass against the LORD in the incident of Peor, and there was a plague among the congregation of the LORD. Now therefore, kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman who has known a man intimately. But keep alive for yourselves all the young girls who have not known a man intimately.

The booty remaining from the plunder, which the men of war had taken, was six hundred and seventy-five thousand sheep, seventy-two thousand cattle, sixty-one thousand donkeys, and thirty-two thousand persons in all, of women who had not known a man intimately. And the half, the portion for those who had gone out to war, was in number three hundred and thirty-seven thousand five hundred sheep; and the LORD's tribute of the sheep was six hundred and seventy-five. The cattle were thirty-six thousand, of which the LORD's tribute was seventy-two. The donkeys were thirty thousand five hundred, of which the LORD's tribute was sixty-one. The persons were sixteen thousand, of which the LORD's tribute was thirty-two persons. So Moses gave the tribute which was the LORD's heave offering to Eleazar the priest, as the LORD commanded Moses."

There are people who believe that morality is Absolute. Does this "narrative" describe moral behavior? Were the events described in this "narrative" GOOD events? Are they a guide to Absolute values of virtuous conduct? Would the Absolute values of a God change over time and from time to time? Is there some Absolute moral GOOD in killing all women outside your tribe who have "known a man intimately"...and some Absolute Moral Good in capturing the virgins for the purpose of sexual pleasure?

Were they relative to time and place, or have these Absolute Morals changed over time? Did people have "Rights" in the "narrative"? Should people have "Rights" today? Should your "Rights" depend on what religious tribe you follow? If there is ONE Absolute God and ONE Absolute right and wrong, then what race of people ought to be murdered? and what race of virgins ought to be kept for private property--and used as objects without even the rights or freedoms of animals of tin cans that lttle boys kick down the street?
