Man Tries to Set Self Ablaze at White House
Monday, November 15, 2004

WASHINGTON, D.C. — An unidentified man tried to set himself on fire outside the White House fence midday Monday, witnesses said.

Onlookers said the incident took place outside the Northwest gate. Uniformed Secret Service (search) agents were seen rushing to surround the man, who had graying hair and glasses. He was heard screaming in pain.

Television cameras captured the aftermath. Smoke hung in the air around the man as paramedics rushed to provide aid. The man appeared to be clutching his hand in pain, but it was unclear how serious his burns were.

A spokesman for the District of Columbia Fire Department (search) said the man suffered burns over about 30 percent of his body.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.

"...and not a single one of them has experienced anything like the pure garbage we are seeing in heathen kids."

Your so-called "heathen kids" have a tendency to be more tolerant of others and more peace loving and less naive about what goes on in the world around them, imo.

"The reason you aren't seeing pregnant teens in the churches is because the kids in the churches who belong to parents who attend at least weekly, are just better than your kids."

That's the biggest piece of baloney I've heard in a while, and don't tell me I don't know what I'm talking about, I've spent many years attending church (though I don't anymore) and my family has a history of pastors, one is even semi-famous in Baptist circles. You are totally out to lunch on that one my friend, tunnel vision is what it is. The reason you don't see pregnant teens is because they use the clinics, like everyone else. The reason why there are so many christian girls getting pregnant, imo, is that often they don't get sex education. You know how many adult christian women I've met in my time that believed there clitoris was in the wrong place? Really, it's sad, your love of ignorance.
