Here's a local politics up date. I've mentioned this ice arena before. The mayor wanted to build an ice arena for public skating. It was voted down 3-1 on a non binding vote on an off year local voting session.

Here's a local politics up date. I've mentioned this ice arena before. The mayor wanted to build an ice arena for public skating. It was voted down 3-1 on a non binding vote on an off year local voting session last year. The city has 6 alderman positions and union guys grabbed 3. People running for alderman here are usually someone who wants one term to get the streets in their neighborhood fixed or someone in sales for name recognition. The mayor votes when there is a tie.

Remember the people voted down 3-1 a $30 million arena. Union guys wanted the building jobs plus what can be stolen. Mayor's husband owned the ground and her brother owns the minor league hockey team that will play in the HOCKEY arena. 4-3 vote went for building the now $76 million arena and today they added a $6 million parking deck for the arena. Up to $82 million for something the people didn't want to spend $30 million on. Robbery pays better if you don't use a mask and gun.
