First: I said what the article said. People were claiming the band said such and such during the performance. Second your article leaves out some very significant details. Like:

1) There was a negative media show clearly focusing on Bush as a topic of the song, running in the background of the show. The article doesn't mention that at all. Except for this misleading comment:

Engstrom also asked teacher Jim Kavanagh to play electric banjo and help produce a photographic presentation he wanted in the background.

As if the content was insignificant.

2) The article states:

"I talked to many people who were (at the practice), including teachers, students and other faculty and no one altered the lyrics or expressed any ill will or any reference to President Bush or anyone dying."

no reference to anyone dying????

uh...Lyrics from Dylan's song:

"And I hope that you die
And your death'll come soon
I will follow your casket
In the pale afternoon
And I'll watch while you're lowered
Down to your deathbed
And I'll stand over your grave
'Til I'm sure that you're dead."

Seems like protesters have become spineless snake bellies who slither under a rock when the heat is on.

With a name like 'The Taliband' what should we expect? ... under a rock, into a cave ... I donno...

Oh... We should expect YOU to be championing their cause, and turning them into victims. OK

So, what you are calling a 'rumor' is not and the cover up and denials are much more intriguing than the actual event... as is usually the case.
