Political correctness forbids such distinctions.

There are definitely more suicides among gay teenagers, because more of them are miserably unhappy. This unhappiness comes not from their underlying sexual orientation but from the myriad ways in which American society discriminates against them. It is hard enough being a teenager with all its ups and downs. If your schoolmates mock you (how CHRISTIAN is that, incidentally?), your parents reject you and maybe even send you packing, do you think that would make anyone happy, really?

I have never seen any statistics about violence in gay relationships. Do you have some to share? There is violence in over 40% of American marriages at some point. If there is even more violence in gay relationships than that, it might be related to the additional stress these relationships are under because of the disapproval of much of the American populace. Imagine being stared at and pointed at and see if you can imagine that improving your sense of inner peace and love towards your partner!

Obviously the media fears a backlash. They know what damage a gang of angry hairdressers could perpetrate!!
