In SA, there are tribes of Bedouins. In Iraq, there are Sunnis, Kurds and Shia.......not tribes.

I still stand by my point. Shias from one region of Iraq are not all that concerned about Shias that they have never met from another region. The idea that all the Shias in Iraq are going to revolt because Fallujah is going up in smoke is wrong.

The writer never said the Shia would be alienated. He said the larger Iraqi, Sunni population would be alienated as would the Sunni populations in nations surrounding Iraq[with the lone exception of Iran]. The Sunnis are the dominant majority in the Muslim world and carry a lot of weight in the ME......that was the writer's point.

I imagine the peaceful Shias in Iraq are happy as can be that the "insurgent/nutcase/suicide bomb planners" are getting killed in Fallujah.

Probably so.......but I suspect they may be disturbed by the treatment in general Iraqi citizens are getting now that Bush is re elected.
