Yes, animals instinctively stick to their own kind. You remind me that we see squirrel fights and chases here fairly often, especially gray versus black. Also, our bird feeders often are the site of rumbles. We attract jays, robins, sparrows, cardinals, etc. When I think about it, all of these fights are "interracial.". When crows come in flocks, all hell breaks loose and the other birds take off in a hurry.
