Capt., think you're way off the mark here with the Iran backing down thing. Iran is simply delaying a crackdown. I'll be convinced, and change my mind, only when Iran allows unfettered inspection teams in -- that will be a cool day in Hell.

Sure, there will be sham negotiations over rules and restrictions thus providing seemingly “reasonable” delays. In the end the additional time simply permits continuation of their enrichment program with neither serious restraint nor sanctions -- thus strengthening their position.

Eventually the talks will break down and Iran will walk away from the table. After all that's exactly what their koran says to do -- lie to infidels until they turn their back.

I still think Iran had a different statement prepared for a Kerry victory.
