It's interesting that so many people still think that this administration gives one whit about pain, suffering and the future of the planet. It doesn't care. The entire right-to-birth fanaticism is more about controlling the lives of others than care for children. From Falwell on down, none of these are moral, ethical, decent individuals. They're charlatans who get rich by providing targets for idiots to vent their anger and frustration on. The right-wing has really tapped into an ugly vein of fear and hatred in the US. It's profitable, it gets them votes and it prevents their sheeple from seeing reality.
