I can't think about such complex issues nearly as fast as you type. I have read your post several times and am struggling.

One dimensional thinking surely doesn't get us very much enlightenment, or solve problems very well.

I think the whole psychedelic movement that actually started at Harvard in the 1950's was an attempt by academics to become multidimensional. I also think the conventional widsom--that psychedelics can show you where you can go but cannot really keep you there--is true.

I am sure the Buddhists have something to say about all this, and wish I understood their philosophy better. They seem basically more enlightened than most Americans are.
