the school system where I live is outstanding - the inner city lags behind as most larger cities do - our colleges are truly outstanding - I'm sure going to school in another country is an expanding experience and I fully support the exchange student program

per the NEA, Reading Are Scores Up, Writing Scores Are Up, Math Scores Are Up, SAT Scores Are Rising, ACT Scores Are Rising, Students Taking More Academic Courses

health insurance is an ugly monster, yet no one seems able to 'fix it' - I am personally opposed to national health insurance - with medicare, medicaid and social security, we simply can't afford it

per the census bureau real median income for the nation remained unchanged between 2002 and 2003 for all types of family and nonfamily households - real median household incomes remained unchanged between 2002 and 2003 at $43,318

my opinion on jobs? manufacturing jobs will continue to disappear to the third world, for their standard of living/real wage is dirt cheap - to make a product, stay in business by being competitive in the world market, you have no other choice - the US job market has to adjust to that fact, be resourceful and adapt to the changing world market

I have made a concentrated effort to look at labels and by American products - wine, cheeses, automobiles, etc

this is a good buy American made site:

buyamerican.com

'god' was mentioned in the Declaration of Independence and 'our lord' in the constitution - so the wording of god/lord has been around since day one - I don't think that makes you have to believe in religion or god, just that the majority of America and the founding fathers do and did

btw, did you know the congress only added the words 'under god' to the pledge in 1954?

I'm sorry your unhappy about the state of the world and planet

I prefer to be optimistic
