That was a great post Elroy.

I don't have even close to the depth of experience you have, but from what I see around the DC area, its definitely -- "I've made up my mind -- now go get everyone to agree with me."

Extremely arrogant, for the simple reasons:

1. The banks are willing conspirators lending them what ever money the want. So they have money and lawyers on their side. Unfortunately for them, the DC area has tons of lawyers that own homes around here -- and are willing to fight their out of control dreams.

2. They think that because they represent job and business, they control what the government will approve.

There are some development projects getting underway near where I live that developers have been trying to push FOR TWENTY YEARS. That's how long it takes for natural progress/renewal to take its course.

Why they would think it would happen any faster is for exactly the reasons you described:

... they don't want to hear about it. They only want to hear how they're going to gain approval ...
