Tip, the term was "house slave." He does everything the master wants and gets better treatment. So, it was definitely racial in nature, which is true of many of Harry Belafonte's political statements. He and Sidney Poitier used to be best friends and had a falling out over Martin Luther King. Unfortunately, I don't know who thought what about MLK. Both guys are noticeably taciturn most of the time. I can't imagine falling out with a friend over any politician. <G>
