You may "target" non-innocent people but the end result is that the US military ends up killing the innocent people while the non-innocent people escape.

Besides, when you invite people to a mosque with a promise to give them much needed and long deprived food but you end up checking them for traces of gun powder on their bodies, that is not a good sign that the US military is working to earn the trust of the local population who are Muslims and distrust the "Christian" militia to begin with.

Iraq is sitting atop a simmering volcano.

So babies are not innocent and deserve to be killed? Over 100,000 Iraqis have died, how many of them are innocent and how many are innocent?

Letting brave American troops get killed due to unnecessary war is not an innocent act. These soldiers are innocent but were sent to face bullets and bombs of the insurgents.

Don't the neocons have any conscience or soul?

What if we are invaded by another country, cities destroyed, our people who fight foreign occupation got killed. Babies, women and children killed by the occupying forces. The entire city was attacked, 200,000+ citizens had to leave the city and the remainder is considered fair game. If you defend your own home and family and attack the occupier, are you considered a not innocent and deserve to die?

Afterall, don't we have WMD? Don't we have mad neocons controlling the government? Don't we have corruption? Don't we have the capability to attack another country? Aren't we a threat to Iran, Syria, North Korea and any country that does not subscribe to the neocon's philosophy? So, if a foreign country attacks us with the above reasoning, is that justified?

Shouldn't we always consider, what if we are the recipient of our action. Would we like it?
