Far too many people are ignorant of history, aren't they? "We" as a lump, tend to believe that everything we are experiencing and perceiving is all new, having never occurred in the past.

That now trite line - those that do not learn from the mistakes of the past are doomed to repeat them - is oh so true.

"Holy wars" have been fought in the past. We are not so different than those that trod before us. Economic wars have been fought in the past and continue to this day.

My only surprise, shock in fact, is that in this day and age, when more should be aware of the past and present, that so many are blind to what is going on around them. They call it partisanship - I call it blind followership.
