Such a small human being, from what little i've seen of her [maybe twelve seconds on television] .... there is no reasoned argument in any of what she is famous for, it's all much less than helpful, and embarrassing

Bush must be opposed, it is simply unacceptable that one nation go about dictating to six billions of us, deciding in some Washington back room who will get invaded next ... if Martin was half the man that was Lester B Pearson, he'd have long since stood up on his hind legs and made workable constructive proposals for reform of the UN, and gathered worldwide support for the project ... Pearson could sell Eisenhower on things that made sense, ah those were the days, now those poor buggers down south have lost their Ike, and we our Mike, and what do we have left as our last best hopes, Harper who's only too ready to pander to the swaggering of chickenhawks, and some ridiculous woman determined to make us look like idiots

I think Parrish is ignorant to be sure, but a great many Canadians share at least some component of her views, from both sides of the political spectrum.

The view - that Bush is not the best choice for America (and by extension the world) its not strictly an "anti-American" feeling among people who live in Canada.

Case in point: most of my family are American - those that live in Canada are all landed immigrants or dual citizens. None of them support Bush. All of them are registered Republicans.

Stephen, I believe the reasons Americans elected Bush again go far beyond 911 which I agree was certainly a catalyst. Their culture is diverging from ours (or ours from theirs) IMO.

I completely agree on Parrish though. Martin shouldn't have waited so long, he gave her a lot of time to learn some tact and decorum. She failed. Like we teach our kids there is a time and a place...
