Ray,

Padilla's dirty bomb would have been a dud but there are dirty bombs that could do damage. Our soldiers have been exposed to low levels of radiation in the Gulf War and are still sick today. Many Iraqi's have cancers due to their exposure to the remnants left in the desert.

Compared to a large, carefully engineered nukes like the ones we produce, the dirty bombs are minute. Bin Ladin probably is interested in causing alot more damage than it can create.

One article probably can't cover the entire topic.

Bin Ladin takes advice from people who are far wiser than Padilla.
