Call it canard if you want. I was talking of a coalition force large enough to have prevented the destruction of infrastructure and mayhem we see now. Sure, the president was convinced, and rightly, that the war could be won on the cheap. But he didn't listen to the state department, or Powell, who warned of the consequences of "owning the country." And the only way of avoiding that was to have enough troops on the ground after the invasion to protect "the people and property." But who listens to guys with war experience when you have Cheney and Rumsfeld at your side.
