Your post SEEMS to be well-reasoned, but it contains several examples of erroneous, passively hostile beliefs held by the Christian right.

First, there are lots of gay couples who have been faithful to each other for DECADES, just as there are similar straight couples. There is promiscuity in gay circles, especially among young men, but straight young men have high rates of promiscuity as well everywhere. There are many gay families with children, both the natural children of one of the partners, and also adopted and foster children. Traditional two-sex families also have all these variations in how they have children.

If your community was constantly challenged, if members of it were openly discriminated against, roughed up, driven off the road, beaten, tied to fences and left to die, etc., you also would tend to proactively engage in the politics of change.

It never ceases to amaze me that when all gay couples want is the right to love each other openly, to support each other and be able to enjoy the civil rights that heterosexuals take for granted, which would stabilize society and be positive and purposeful, this kind of creepy hypocrisy pops up.
