the interest rate thing has been jerking my chain for awhile - I guess that Doug Kass must have it right - the yield curve is flattening which bodes ill for the future.

I suppose that any dramatic reversal in the foreign prchase of bonds would change the long bond interest rate direction - short of that, the market does not seem to see any inflation or demand side pressures... who knew?
