Regarding the mission, i have said that this falluja/run up to the election is the crucial period in time. If we dont make progress and the elections turn into a 180 of the afgan ones its time for plan B--withdraw from major combat and set an end date for our departure. Perhaps that will light a fire under the asses of sunni moderates. And if all else fails, settle for Sun and my 3 state solution leading to a kurdish state in the north, a religious shiaa state in the south allied with iran, and a mess in the triangle. I am willing to be harshly realistic after january but until then i will hope that our currrent aggressive policy. I said to GST earlier that i gave it a 50/50 shot. He came back with the odds at 99-1 against but so far he is chicken to offer me the odds. I would put up $100 to his $9,900. What odds are you giving? mike
