KT, how did they manage to launch GLD at NAV? Where are the underwriter's commissions?

KT,

The IRS is tough to figure out.

Physical gold
Paper gold at, say, Kitco
Canada's CEF
Australia's GOLD.AX
selling grams of gold in a GoldMoney or eGold account
and GLD

are all taxed as collectible (ie max 28% rate) on liquidation

Gold mining shares
HUI, XAU options

are not. Go figure, eh?

People have taken cases just like these to the Supreme Court as money can be interpreted as only made by precious metal in the US Constitution.

Remember, you don't *have* to file a tax return. <ggg>
