That was a cruel read. It is hard to believe that a single civilized human in 2004 could think of no better conception of Divinity than simply to parrot the ignorance and primitive superstitious beliefs of ancient tribes where thunder was the voice of a God and where "spirits" had to be cast out of the lame or the different. Why don't people just walk into the darkest corner of some jungle where no science or civilized values have ever penetrated, ask them what THEY believe in, and then let THEM lead us in prayers to some snake or tree or sun or Muchawuchi? Yes, that was a cruel and brutal read. The guy knew his bible.
