Agreed. I will help anyone in a ditch. I love Americans. I'm married to one. After 9/11 I wrote, and many did including the "left" press, that we were all Americans now. We meant it.

But Bush has squandered it.

And Harper is too far along the neoconservative spectrum, too.

Politics gets us going, but these discussions are critical.

Meanwhile, Pax Americana means "secure the middle east, at all costs" because domestic policy there refuses to look at the systemic problems of their society. Canada is little better, in fact we use more energy per capita than the do, although climate and Alberta oil sands have something to do with that.

Its not all about oil, but sucking on the cheap / accessible energy teat for too long has created addicts out of North Americans. Fortunately for Canada, we have resources to spare. Unfortunately the US has not, and they've decided that military solutions trump long lasting, but disruptive, change.

That's not a conservative agenda at all.
