Do you think he wasn't aware of the conventional wisdom that any "Osama" issues would help Bush and not Kerry? No, I don't think Osama has any understanding of how democracy works, and doesn't know Kerry from a hole in the wall. Listen to the last tape, where he talks about Bush (sr, I presume) appointing his sons governors and presidents. Osama clearly thinks the US is like the Mideast, that may have sham elections while one family holds the power. I don't think it occurs to him that the outcome of the election could actually have gone the other way. and demonstrating that determined resistance by Muslims cannot be overcome by the greatest military force in the history of the world? You think that's what was just demonstrated in Fallujah? Who was the weak horse there?

"I expect more from you Mike." I dont expect more from you Ed. Pardon the assault--i couldnt resist the line. You are very naive about what bin laden thinks. Afganistan was a disaster for him and although iraq has gone well for al quaeda to date, the original zarquawi warning about the US stands. I am not commenting on the situation on the ground in iraq until after january elections. I said i think we have 50/50 chance there for a recognizable success. I will reevaluate my position then if need be. Will you be so open minded????
