I was there and it was definitely crazy. Randall did look like he is coming into his own.

People do not understand the passion that Tech fans feel. The media do not take Tech seriously and at times that would be justifiable. However, I will make this comment and stand behind it. On any given day in any year, irregardless of the talent on the team....VT is capable of beating any team in the country.

It's a thing called Beamerball. You have two different coaching systems one tries to fit the system to the players that are on the team and the other finds the players that will fit the system.

Dean Smith was a perfect example. He would find the most talented players in the nation and take that talent and try to adapt the players to the system at UNC. Others try to take the players that they have and find a system that the players will adapt to.

What FB does is goes a step beyond that and finds players that will shoe into or meld into the system that he has in place.

Tech has had to do this to survive over the years because we have not always had the availability to access the best talent in the nation. This is why for example why other teams that try to copy Beamerball are not always successful at it. One team that comes to mind in Mississippi State.

So what Tech does is tries to find the best talent to fit the system. They want players that will have to adapt very little to the system.

We can be interested in a player that other teams are not interested in. We can find so called new talent and other teams are scratching collective heads saying , we has a shot at that kid and passed him up. But the truth is that the kid would not have fit in at the other school.

I truly think Tech has something unique and the media and other coaching staff cannot quite adapt to it.

Before we left the Big East,Pitt and WVU were successful at coming up with a game plan that seemed to work against us, Syracuse and Miami were oft times successful at times. I almost think that to beat Beamerball you need to use Beamerball.

In closing, the term is so vague that even the players don't know exactly what it is. When it works, like this past Thursday, it's great and when it doesn't , even Tech people haven't a hint at how to get it back....kind of like do you have the mojo....or not.....

See ya the 27th..........big game......Gregor

How about those Hokies? Who would have thought we would at the very least share in the ACC title in our first year.

I have a question for you. Is there any way I can change the name of the thread. I think more posters would find it if the title would have Virginia Tech in it rather than VA Tech. Most posters when trying to find the Hokies would search for the whole state Virginia rather than the abbreviated Va., Also some would search for Hokies which I didn't put in the title.

I am thinking about starting a new thread to replace this one in the hope that more people would participate. Any thoughts about the title....Gregor.
