Liberal racism is the most pernicious and the most despicable because it is allegedly clothed in good intentions. We have tons of it at SI. "Liberal racism" isn't racism emanating from liberals, although it is found most conspicuously in liberal policies. Liberal racism is undue race consciousness--the treating of minority members as hothouse flowers in need of the largess and special protection. I was surprised to see it displayed so vividly by those conservatives who found racism first and foremost in any criticism of Rice, who happens to be black.
