PB, The Marine is not being blamed for Bush's sins. He will be investigated and perhaps tried for his own. Doing his job does not include murdering unarmed wounded people, if that's what he did. I don't think anyone expects him not to defend himself.

It also sounds like a command and communications breakdown. Another unit had treated the wounds of the men in that location (a bit of an argument against the booby trap excuse) and somehow these Marines never heard that story.

Lots of bad things happen in war, from friendly fire to massacres. This could be a good shooting, an honest mistake or a crime. Sadly, it is hard to trust the military to make those sorts of decisions. Praise trickles up and sh-t avalanches down.
