I grew up here and live here now.
As I said, no different racially from any other place.

Southie was a piece of work.... things got ugly there with the forced bussing, but overall, this broad brush treatment of "liberal, racist Boston" doesn't wash.

It's a mistake to extrapolate from some small part of a certain community like parts of the North End and say the entire city is like that. It's like saying all of Boston is like the "Combat Zone".
