Frankly, I don't know very much about the Muslim religion, except that it actively promotes revenge instead of forgiveness, intolerance instead of tolerance, oppression of women instead of liberation, and, in short, the opposite of just about every value that we now hold dear.

Nobody has presented a cogent argument that would justify the rapid growth of the "religion" in recent times. I suspect it is due to the human tendency to gravitate to medieval values like those listed above, instead of the more enlightened ones that should and must replace them.

Louis Lamour fans may have read "The Walking Drum," a novel set in the period of about 1100 AD. Lamour depicts Muslims of that era in a favorable light. His novels are usually based on quite a bit of research into obscure documentation, but perhaps he missed some of the sources consulted by the letter-writer who addressed Ms. Fiorina.
