He raised one hell of a lot of money for his campaign, and gave away a lot of it to other Republicans who were in trouble. He's going in with built-up political capital as a freshman as a result.

I gave Jindal some cash; didn't even get a thank you or an acknowledgment. I gave some to David Vitter, who won, too, and I got a phone call from someone in his campaign thanking me within a few days.

Bobby is very bright and very competent, but he needs to work on his people skills. It is a travesty that he sent out flyers asking for money, making a dramatic pitch for it, when he knew he was going to give some of it away. Even worse that he made no efforts that I am aware of to thank his donors, some of whom are a bit pissed off, me, for instance, because the money was not spent as they intended.
