(OT) Health tip.
I hope you always recover quickly Jim. I agree with you that virulent viruses are more common.

As someone who has been very susceptible to the flu over the past many years and who now doesn't seem to get it I will give you my health conclusions.

In retrospect I found that everytime I came down with the flu, it was after a busy day when I had not drank enough fluids.

Typically I would be busy all day, forget to drink any real fluids, feel hungry, eat a big heavy meal and wake up with a sore throat and flu the next day. The common denominator was always low fluids on the previous day. Washing hands didn't matter, avoiding germs and bacteria didn't much matter, even gettting a flu shot didn't help. It was always a day of mild dehydration that proceeded the virus infection.

Since this discovery I always make sure to drink plenty of juice in the morning and again in the afternoon (especially in flu season), and doing this, everyone around me can be contagious with the flu and I remain in perfect health. This works for me, whether it will work for others I cannot say.

In regard to fluids I also discovered carbonated drinks do not seem to help. They get their fizz from carbon dioxide which seems to de-oxygenate the blood and cause more harm that good.
