You said it, T!

Flippin' channels and NOW with Bill Moyers was on and it was a scathing smackdown of C. Rice. Surprised to see such a beatdown .. especially after the election .. is PBS bulletproof? Surprised to see a completely critical piece or review of the current admin (after the election and by Moyers on PBS of all people).

He went from video clip to video clip of statements and let them almost speak for themselves. Cheney, Powell, Rice, Bush, over and over, sounding the warning of Saddam in the lead-in to war. They sound wacky and scary now because none of the accusations they made panned out (so it is evident they were lying to us though that's no surprise to anyone; politicians and gov officials lie, all the time). They painted like bad artists a bs picture of Saddam as a threat; like he was at that very moment, personally patrolling the US coastline in a nuclear sub, and/or swimming without his trunks while drinking vodka and giving us the finger.

Moyer's message was straight on (during the part I watched which dealt with C. Rice's career to date). His review said unequivocally that Rice is a dangerous stooge. Interesting to do this now, as she just got "promoted" right? Is Moyer hiding in the light? "Certainly, they can't touch me if I'm public (with my opposition)", or something like that. But he will clearly have to go into the special file now (if he wasn't there already). Whether he can be repaid for this kindness by the Elephant people depends on whether Captain Kirk gets elected God after our own pissed off or disenfranchised folk begin snapping and "terrorism" finally arrives upon these shores. Any backlash will depend on how things develop of course. Moyer deserves kudos but he may as well have aired King George Forever and his Holy Patriot Act: the Story of the Right's next amendment to the constitution. Because Big Brother watches and waits for him now. "Welcome, to your first tax audit Mr. Moyer ..., we're looking forward to knowing you and yours for a long, long, long time."

let the good times roll
