1% per month of amount over is not paltry, it's usurious.

In the context that it was being discussed, I maintain it is a negligible amount given the alternative of not participating at all in the speculative venture where we expect chosen stocks to return from 20% to 300% in a few months. After all, it is not an interest rate, it is a penalty.
