America has not seen a war on its own soil and its citizens would not have a first hand experience of the horrors of war. America has exported death and destruction whether it is in Hiroshima or Europe and now in Arab lands.

We will have to wait and see the outcome of the foreign war that the 51 million Americans have voted for. After all a majority of the Germans also voted to support Hitler until such time when a large number of nations rose up against the fascist German nation.

This is not a war against terror for if it was then we would have some success to report. Instead it a war for oil (see the gas proces rise). It is a war against Islam (Gen Boykin continues to thrive, Bush utters the name of Christ and gets people to vote for him). There is alot brewing out there. BUt when all is said and done, Osama has won this round against Bush. He did succeed in breaking this nation apart economically, morally and what have you.

We've already been through an awful lot re. him. And have had to think hard about the possibility of his loss, having nothing to do with anything involving military service.

Getting to the gist of your post. We (meaning America) have lost an awful lot of people in past wars. Most of realize it has been by and large a necessary sacrifice. Most of us also realize there will be sacrifices in the future. Life is always easy.

Most of us realize that after 911 we can't accept anymore the existence of terror-supporting regimes in the world. Though we should have realized much sooner given the decades of terror attacks against us. We did the right thing removing Saddam. We would have had to fight him again someday even if we'd backed down in '03 like the anti-war folks wish. I'll tell you right now, we also need to remove the current Iranian regime. I pray our leaders realize that and are planning to do whatever it takes to accomplish.

The fact that we've lost people already in Iraq makes it even more important to me that we not give up and make their sacrifices a waste like we did in Viet Nam.

It is one thing to make sacrifices. It is another to make sacrifices and have your fellow citizens trying as hard as they can to make those sacrifices a mockery and waste.
