The "wall" was never created but in the mind of communists who later inflicted it on our misguided. The essence of both the letter by Jefferson and the 1st Amendment is simply that the government will not pick a specific religion and champion that. It said nothing about denying expression and that is what the leftist twist to the very opposite of it's meaning. The expression of religion is what should not be infringed upon and that is exactly what the left means to do. Unless of course it is a new popular religion that has a cool fad following and maybe some big actors joining it.
