Comments in media are confusing, but it looks like it is definitely flu season and avian flu news should be coming out daily (and most will be bad news).

Reuters now covering WHO on H5N1 and looming pandemic. Still use 1% case fatality rate (VERY optimistic) and say no evidence for H5N1 mating and mutating, which is wrong

Because of the WHO meetings in Bangkok there has been quite a bit of news on the flu pandemic. Some are also mentioning the case fatality rate

which is much higher than the numbers used by WHO in their projections.

CNN just covered the story (it was on their website this morning). and it should be getting more coverage.
