"Experts say that China is paying for drilling and pipe lines in Brazil three times what the oil will cost." Do the experts have access to the detailed facts of the deal? Do they know how fast the money will be spent and what the price of oil will be at the various times when the money will be spent? "Experts" can be instantly created and/or hired. If you have the money you can get an expert who will swear up and down that second hand cigarette smoke is not dangerous, or that Iraq had WMD, or China will collapse or generating hydrogen from water will solve the energy crisis or any other such fiction. There's so much garbage "news" around that many if not most newspapers are worth less than the paper that they are made of.

And one thing for sure, I do hope the Noranda deal goes down the drain

The Canadian public agrees with you.
I think its a huge asset that we Canadians should hang on to in the private sector.
