It doesn't matter if UN is inept. It is inept about most things equally.

We're not talking about "ineptness"; we're talking about crime. This has the makings of an international scandal, the likes of which haven't been seen before.

It is the perception that it represents global will. The important part is the relative acceptance that comes from the action that comes from that.

I'm not sure what you're talking about. What I am sure about is that Germany, France, and Russia were being paid by Saddam to keep us (and the UN) off his back. While he watched 5,000 innocent CIVILIANS die every month under his regime.

Next time someone says, "We shouldn't cede our foreign policy to the UN", I suggest you pay attention.

That would be 15 years too late. So far we have lost 50k+ innocent lives and counting. Inexcusable.

That's fewer than would have been lost had we not removed Saddam.
