That's insane. Kim Jong il would know he's got one shot and then he is dead, whether Canada participates in the US NMD program or not. I don't seem him firing off a weapon unless he is truly insane, and then it would be far more likely to be aimed at Hawaii or Japan or California than Vancouver.

I disagree with a categorical statement like this, but agree Canada is danger of increasingly looking like a US policy poodle at heel.

Since I am completely at odds with US foreign policy (not to mention domestic policies in particular energy policy) you won't find me seeking to get closer to the US in our foreign policies.

Being a critic of US policy is not a popular stance for a "conservative" to take, I'll grant you, but someone has to speak up since too many vote along party lines without using their brains first.

North Korea using Canada as target practice If we got hit it would more than likely be as collateral damage since we are so concentrated along the US border...

Going along with missile defence I fear would be a tacit agreement with US foreign policy. I know we disagree much on that topic. Personally I think the biggest threat to our sovereignty is if a lunatic gets into the whitehouse... fortunately that is not the case.

There are far easier, cheaper and more discreet ways to attack the US. Just look at the havoc caused by the two snipers Malvo and Mohammed.. Imagine that in every major city simultaneously... and I'm not too worried about China attacking the US, at least not with nukes... Seems like a lot of dough to spend for North Korea...
