We are talking the same size. 10 townships equal 1000 sq. km.
The CDN logging is emptying 1000 sq. km of heavy forest also. Presumably the rain forest is more robust at co2 consumption or whatever it does but that does not make 1000 sq. km of CDN forests every three months expendable. I would venture a guess that the isolated incidence that you speak of in that particular 1000 sq. km. of rain forest (in lung activity) is incidental compared to the net effects of CDN logging and other general de-forestation in the Amazon. Yah gotta see the forest for the trees. <gg>
Any trees left in China?? Are a thousand sq. kn of trees lopped off of any consequence in China? I note that you referred to the border being bare on one side and lush growth on the outside border of China.
