Accident Involving Bombardier Crj200 in China

MONTREAL – (BUSINESS WIRE) – Nov. 21, 2004 – Bombardier Aerospace (TSX:BBD.A)(TSX:BBD.B):

A China Eastern Airlines Bombardier CRJ200 regional jet was involved in an accident at about 8:20 a.m. China local time (12:20 GMT) today while the aircraft was en route from Baotou to Shanghai. The accident occurred two kilometres from Baotou, a city in the Inner Mongolian region.

The preliminary passenger list indicates the aircraft carried 47 passengers and a crew of six, although this is subject to confirmation.

Bombardier Aerospace accident response team members are on their way to China to assist the Chinese aviation authorities in the accident investigation.

Bombardier is deeply saddened by this tragic event and we extend our sympathies to the families of those who perished. Bombardier will provide every assistance to the investigating authorities to determine the cause of this accident.
