You will appreciate this.

I had Comex futures prior to 911 and I thought I had done everything right because I was taking delivery on the gold.

Then when delivery came I found all the certificates that I got were from Scotia, and all that was actually buried underneath the World Trade Center!

I refused delivery of those certificates and eventually got some gold above ground but I guess the point is that in dealing with gold a lot of strange things can and will happen. There's no sure thing, only degrees of uncertainty imo, all of which are better than Fannie Mae bonds <g.
