Things usually do not turn out as badly as we think they will (though Iraq has turned out as badly as I thought it would, so there are exceptions). I think we are lucky we live in blue states, imagine the horror of living in a red state, where you would know that most of your neighbors had value systems completely alien to your own!!! I am sure people who do not feel comfortable with blue state mentality, feel the same level of discomfort living in the blue states when Democrats are in charge.

My husband tells me Canada has invited the blue states to join them, since politically we have a lot more in common with Canada than with the red states. I think that is a really good idea.
