My dad is waiting for his Chinese mainland girlfriend to get her "fiance visa" and come to the USA.

I advised him that IF he wants to have her sign a pre-nup, he needs to have it translated into Chinese, and hire a Chinese speaking lawyer to go over it with her, otherwise it will be worthless. Not that I am advising him to have her sign a pre-nup, his assets are pretty tied up, but his friends are telling him to have her sign a pre-nup.

He was going to just hand her a pre-nup in English. I told him that wouldn't work.

Then he was going to have it translated by someone who is not a lawyer, and explained to her by someone who is not a lawyer. I told him that wasn't going to work, either.

I haven't asked him lately whether he's made any progress towards finding a Chinese speaking lawyer who understands Louisiana community property laws, but I get the distinct impression that he thinks I am raining on his parade. ;^)
