<France's productivity per hour worked is actually higher than the US: Message 20776019

They live significantly longer than Americans: cia.gov

And they have a 35 hour work week and 5 week mandatory vacations for everybody <g>

Not to mention it's lovely at Le Lavendou in summer [though there are umpty million Germans forming 100s of kilometres of traffic jams heading to the south]. And fresh baguettes are great [bread in the USA is not worth eating]

I expect Canadians to take it as a compliment, since they take great pains to be 'not American' <vbg>

Kyros,

France healthcare is rated superior to both Canada (to my surprise) and the US . David and I disagree on healthcare :o)

David is correct in that the Canadian debt reduction isn't all it's cracked up to be... It was accomplished on the backs of the provinces and municipalities... Think of Martin as one of the guys with the whips in a Roman trireme... :O) The current Ontario and BC deficits (provinces 1 and 3) in size.. basically negate the fed surplus... and that doesn't take into account the city of Toronto itself which is bigger than most provinces... I've posted on this before... Martin and the Feds deserve no laurels...

I still don't believe we'll see par USD / Loonie .. but I've been wrong before...
