RDW,
I am very familiar with El Nino. Us Californians are usually the first to feel its effects. I just found the article interesting in that it was saying that this El Nino looked like it was going to be mild when, in fact, it has been relatively strong to date.

As far as my koi pond, I have always wanted to have a pond, and I am also planning on doing 2 to 3 interlocking ponds. I am going to have the ponds at slightly different elevations so that there will be running streams between them. Of course, this assumes that it stops raining long enough for the ground to dry up a bit. Shouldn't be too much to ask since this is a freakin desert!

Oh, and the fish are going to winter outside!!!
