The only predictions that I have heard about were the sober ones -- about "unintended consequences" and the potential for a "protracted guerrilla war" in Iraq. Both of those are playing out as had been anticipated.

The Afghan elections are a sham. Those who are growing opium by the tons don't give a damn if Karzai won. Karzai cannot even leave Kabul and even in Kabul, he needs a few thousand US soldiers to keep him alive.

afghanistan is a joke...continue to believe that because we hold the tiny fort of Kabul...the nation is in better shape......
if we had applied ANY of the effort we've mistakenly put into Iraq....it would be a real success....
now we have two disasters on the bloody hands of Bush who has killed 100,000 AT LEAST in Iraq alone.....
