I was teaching sophomores. I took my daughter, also, who was a freshman at the time. The movie actually got a few of the kids in my class interested enough in the classics to read the whole Iliad (we only have excerpted forms in our literature books).

One of the things reviewers are mentioning is that Farrell says his lines with an Irish accent. Which is strange, because in "Phone Booth" he managed to sound like a New Yorker, and in the movie he did with Pacino and in Swat he had no accent ... if he can do that, speaking unaccented English in "Alexander" shouldn't be that difficult.
